Got to tell you how incredibly impressed I am with Darn Tough Merino Wool Hiker Boot Sock Full Cushion. I'd been reading reports from thru-hikers traveling one of the big three (AT, PCT or CDT trails) and thought I'd try a pair myself. They have a life-time guarantee after all - that's right Life-Time get-a-hole-and-send-them-in-for-free-replacement guarantee. Here are my thoughts.
I bought the pair on the left three months ago and, aside from time in the washing machine, I've worn them nearly continuously since purchase. In trail shoes, hiking boots, and stocking footed on carpet, bare floors and even outside in concrete. Except for a little compression of the fabric at the heel they show no wear I can tell. The ankle elastic is still as if new, no fading I can see, no loose threads and certainly no holes. I've never had Merino Wool socks hold up so well.
And they are warm besides.
66% Merino Wool, 32% nylon, 2% Spandex MSRP $24.
Disclosure: I paid $23.98 for each pair of these socks from Amazon.com. I am under no obligation to review these items.
